The project aims to involve pupils from three different communities (the commune of Slătioara commune, the city of Bucharest and the commune of Glina) in activities that raise awareness on the importance of the fauna and flora in the proximity of Slatioara Pit, Olt County, Romania.

Photography Displays in Schools

The key moment of our project!
Yesterday, the 15th of June 2016, we visited Slatioara together with 60 students from four different communities (Slatioara, Glina, Branesti and Bucharest- Aletheea School). It was a very tiring day, but the six supervisors did an excellent job! It was a great experience for everyone and we learned a lot from it.

Zooming in
During the tour around Slatioara Pit, accompanied by Manager Liviu Nita, we took a few moments to zoom in and observe the insect and plant biodiversity.

Identifying the birds
Our educational materials will also focus on bird species and the nesting habitats provided by Olt River. Our field trip was an opportunity to identify them.

Meeting the students from Slatioara
The team also had the opportunity to meet a handful of young people from the local community. The Headmaster of Slatioara School, Mrs. Cristina Alexie, introduced us to the secondary school students.

Our first visit to Slatioara
In april 2016, our team went for the first time to Slatioara (Olt County, Romania). We were excited to meet Mr. Liviu Nita, Manager at Slatioara Pit.
